At the EMPA R&D Center, we approach Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence technologies within a holistic architecture. Our goal is to ensure that data flows securely, efficiently, and meaningfully from edge to cloud across different applications, thereby adding intelligence to systems.
Our Cloud-IoT work focuses on scalable device management, data collection, remote monitoring, and control systems compatible with RED DA & CRA standards.
In embedded systems, we develop our own hardware and software libraries on top of platforms from manufacturers such as AMD, Quectel, Espressif, and ABOV.
Our collaboration with AWS dates back to 2018. Through this IoT partnership, we effectively leverage global cloud infrastructure and services in our projects.
On the artificial intelligence side, our focus is on edge-based learning and inference algorithms. We run tasks such as image analysis, anomaly detection, sensor data classification, and many other functions locally on the hardware. This approach protects data privacy while reducing energy consumption.
At the end of every project, our aim is the same: to simplify complex technology, make it a natural part of the design, and ensure rapid and reliable implementation.
