The Empa R&D Center operates with a team of 20 design engineers across cloud-IoT, edge AI, and embedded electronics sub-groups. These teams transform the insights gained from technology research and trend monitoring—conducted in close coordination with marketing and sales—into practical solutions within our laboratory. By considering the market’s strategic objectives, needs, and application areas, this work results in applied workshops, demos, PoCs, and prototypes, which are offered to the industry free of charge on a project-specific basis. The technical outputs serve as valuable references for our customers’ own product development journeys. The goal is not to deliver a final product, but to accelerate product development, minimize risk, and enable our customers—whom we view as partners—to implement the latest technologies.
