Accelerator Workshops are one-day technical workshops designed by the EMPA R&D Center, leveraging the experience gained from its research and projects.
These events allow engineers and design teams to gain hands-on experience with next-generation hardware and software technologies.
During the workshops, participants have the opportunity to test technologies such as microcontrollers and processors, sensors, communication modules, and cloud services in the same environment, while also exploring topics like FPGA, edge AI, and TFT display technologies.
At the end of each session, participants produce a mini prototype running on real hardware. These prototypes generate experimental results that can be directly applied to participants’ own projects.
The knowledge gained from Accelerator Workshops also contributes to the PoC and demo activities conducted by EMPA’s R&D team and becomes part of EMPA’s “open R&D” model. The information produced is shared simultaneously with both industry and universities. The goal is not only to transfer knowledge but also to co-create and learn in real time. This program enhances engineers’ technical depth while accelerating the design capabilities of local manufacturers.
In short, EMPA Accelerator Workshops shorten the distance between idea and prototype.
